23.14

prāgbhaktaṃ nāma yadanantarabhaktam |

tadapānānilavikṛtāvadhaḥ kāyasya ca balādhānārthaṃ tadgateṣu ca vyādhiṣu praśamanāya kṛśīkaraṇārthañca yojyam ||

vātakopibhiranyairvā nāsikātaruṇāsthani ||

'Before a meal' means immediately before food.

That is to be employed in disorders of apāna wind, to impart strength to the lower body, to pacify diseases located there, and for the purpose of slimming.
