Spring water is sweet and pacifies pitta; well water from a stepped well is sweet and light. / River water should be known as vāta-aggravating, dry, and pungent. / The two ears, the two eyes, the two nostrils, the mouth, the anus, the urinary tract, and three others in women—the two breasts and the menstrual tract. / Likewise, there are thirteen other internal channels, seats of life, pathways for the vital breath, water, food, bodily tissues, and waste products. / All [diseases] indeed arise from all [doṣas], but the designation is made from the predominant one. / Or guggulu, or realgar, or resin of the sāla tree. / Burning sensation of the rectum and the abdominal cavity, pain in the scrotum and groin, / it blocks the heart with sharp pains and rushes about here and there. / May that indestructible god Skanda, the creator, be gracious to you.
