Heaviness and lightness [arise] from proximity to arid lands, marshlands, and mountains. / Those flowing into the western sea, running swiftly and having clear water, / they are vitiated by depletion of the bodily tissues, dryness, thirst, hunger, exercise, suppression of natural urges, and the like. / Therefrom arises excessive, obstructed, very scanty, or frequent respiration accompanied by sound and sharp pain. / The treatment there is as in dyspnea. / Diarrhea, constant thirst, a fever of cold and hot [phases], and loss of appetite. / And an evacuating enema should be made of bilva and the like, containing salvadora, mustard, and cow's urine; / and an unctuous enema prepared with pinus and deodar cedar. / May the blessed Guha, destroyer of the enemies of the divine army, protect you.
