are wholesome in brief; those rivers otherwise are contrary [to health]. / Their water agitated by dashing, tossing, and pounding against rocks, / they are vitiated by ama, fear, excessive drinking, hot, dry, and astringent food, suppression of thirst, and the like. / Therefrom arises excessive thirst, dryness of the mouth, ringing in the ears, and darkness before the eyes. / The medicine there is that stated for thirst. / Chest tightness, darkening of vision, cough, dyspnea, and wakefulness. / One should foment by pouring pleasant-warm unctuous substances along with sugar and milk. / [When the enema fluid is] cold, small in quantity, and enveloped by the doṣas, it repulses the wind. / And may he [born] of Gaṅgā, Umā, and the Kṛttikās grant you happiness.
