Destruction of the smell with flowers of pāṭalā, karavīra, and the like; / [one should drink this] water, but water born of another region is not to be drunk. // And by those two—the essence and the waste product—the channels of the bodily qualities called bodily tissues, composed of those very [elements], are each successively filled in an unbroken continuity; / and from the channels, the bodily tissues are nourished proportionately, each in its proper way. // And even when entering each subsequent [tissue], there is no diminution of the previous channels, which are being nourished at proper times by the digestion resulting from the correct use of food. // And thence the clear essences and waste products called bodily tissues maintain their own measure, / corresponding to age and body. // By a confluence of all [three doṣas], [one has] all characteristics; from blood, stiffness of the limbs and gaze. // One should drink roasted barley groats, infused with the milky sap of arka sprouts, with honey, / [made of] barley stirred into a decoction of daśamūla and the like. // Because of its heat, sharpness, and flowing nature, he should direct the enema downwards; / or a paste of trivṛt and pathyā with cow's urine as a downward-moving agent. // In the case of the dog-demon seizure, a poultice with gavākṣī, brahmadattā, the two bṛhatīs, sārivā, hrīvera, kuṣṭha, bhūmikadamba, surasā flowers, and karavīra flowers; / and with feces and hair of peacock, owl, horse, and buffalo; / an affusion with a decoction of leaves of bilva, eraṇḍa, naktamāla, and araluka.
