vargo haritakākhyo 'yamupadaṃśeṣu yujyate |
vāsano vyañjanānāṃ ca hṛdyo dīpanarocanaḥ ||
this group called green vegetables is used in side dishes; / it perfumes cooked foods, is pleasant to the heart, kindles the digestive fire, and stimulates appetite.
