Lāṅgala, those called lohavāla, kardama, śītabhīruka,
pataṅga, tapanīya, and whatever other noble rice varieties there are;
There, increase of swelling and stiffness of the leg occur.
In the middle of the thigh is Urvī; there, wasting of the leg occurs from loss of blood.
Above Urvī, below the groin joint, at the base of the thigh, is Lohitākṣa;
there, hemiplegia occurs from loss of blood.
Between the groin and the scrotum is Viṭapa;
there, impotence or deficiency of semen occurs.
As with the legs, so in the arms;
the distinction, however, is that the ankle corresponds to the wrist, and likewise the knee to the elbow.
Upon puncturing them, crippledness of the hand occurs.
And like Viṭapa, between the armpit and clavicle is Kakṣādhara; there, crippledness of the hand occurs.
With sugar, honey, and ghee, or with milk, or with a refreshing drink,
or accompanied by the juices of grapes, vidārī, kāśmarya, and meats;
One should know by side-pain and constrictive aches that the unctuous substance is obstructed by vāta.
From living together and associating with gods, asuras, and the like, and because of adopting their disposition, conduct, and deeds, they acquire their names.
