ṛtucaryādiśītoṣṇavṛṣṭidoṣapratikriyā |

ata eva ca caryāyāṃ hemantaśiśire same ||

vidhiyuktādṛte madyādye na sidhyanti dāruṇāḥ ||

Counteracting the faults of cold, heat, and rain through seasonal regimen and other means— / therefore, in the regimen, early winter and late winter are identical.
except for alcohol properly administered, those terrible [conditions] do not succeed;
