Among all varieties of oils, sesame oil is distinguished;
for strength and oleation it is foremost, while castor oil is foremost for purgation.
(Castor oil is pungent, hot, heavy, and alleviates vāta and śleṣman;
combined with astringent, sweet, and bitter substances, it also destroys pitta.) //1
