The Compendium of Caraka 1.25.13

1.25.13

rasajāni tu bhūtāni vyādhayaśca pṛthagvidhāḥ /
āpo hi rasavatyastāḥ smṛtā nirvṛittihetavaḥ //

Beings are born of rasa, and likewise the various diseases; / for water is possessed of rasa, and it is remembered as the cause of manifestation.”
