The Compendium of Caraka 1.25.21

1.25.21

bhāvahetuḥ svabhāvastu vyādhīnāṃ puruṣasya ca /
kharadravacaloṣṇatvaṃ tejontānām yathaiva hi //

Rather, nature is the cause of existence of diseases and of man, / just as roughness, fluidity, mobility, and heat belong [by nature] to [the elements] ending with fire.”
