tanneti bhikṣurātreyo na hyapatyaṃ prajāpatiḥ /
prajāhitaiṣī satataṃ duḥkhairyuṅjyādasādhuvat //

“That is not so,” said the mendicant Ātreya; “for Prajāpati would not, like an evil person, / perpetually afflict his progeny with suffering when he desires the welfare of his progeny.
