catvāro rasā iti hiraṇyākṣaḥ kauśikaḥ svādurhitaśca svādurahitaścāsvādurhitaścāsvādurahitaśceti /

“There are four tastes,” said Hiraṇyākṣa Kauśika: “palatable and wholesome, palatable and unwholesome, unpalatable and wholesome, and unpalatable and unwholesome.”
