lobhaśokabhayakrodhamānavegān vidhārayet /
nairlajjyerṣyātirāgāṇāmabhidhyāyāśca buddhimān //

The wise person should restrain the urges of greed, grief, fear, anger, vanity,
shamelessness, jealousy, excessive passion, and covetousness;
