2.7.20

ye tvenamanuvartante kliśyamānaṃ svakarmaṇā/ na sa taddhetukaḥ kleśo na hyasti kṛtakṛtyatā//

As for those [spirits] that pursue him when he is tormented by his own deeds, / the torment does not have them as its primary cause, nor is there any gratuitous action [on their part].
