viṣayapravaṇaṃ sattvaṃ dhṛtibhraṃśānna śakyate/
niyantumahitādarthāddhṛtirhi niyamātmikā//
Because of derangement of resolve, the mind, which is inclined toward sense-objects, / cannot be restrained from harmful objects; for resolve has the nature of restraint.
