evamayaṃ nānāvidhānāmeṣāṃ garbhakarāṇāṃ bhāvānāṃ samudāyādabhinirvartate garbhaḥ; yathā---kūṭāgāraṃ nānādravyasamudāyāt, yathā vā-ratho nānārathāṅgasamudāyāt; tasmādetadavocāma---mātṛjaścāyaṃ garbhaḥ; pitṛjaśca, ātmajaśca, sātmyajaśca, rasajaśca, asti ca sattvamaupapādukamiti(hovāca bhagavānātreyaḥ)//

Thus this embryo is produced from the combination of these manifold embryo-forming factors, just as a mansion [is built] from a combination of manifold materials, or just as a chariot [is built] from a combination of manifold chariot-parts. Therefore we said this: this embryo is born of the mother, born of the father, born of the self, born of wholesomeness, born of chyle, and there is a transmigrating mind—thus spoke the venerable Ātreya.
