tamuvāca bhagavānātreyaḥ---aparisaṃkhyeyā lokāvayavaviśeṣāḥ, puruṣāvayavaviśeṣā apyaparisaṃkhyeyāḥ; teṣāṃ yathāsthūlaṃ katicidbhāvān sāmānyamabhipretyodāhariṣyāmaḥ, tānekamanā nibodha samyagupavarṇyamānānagniveśa! /

The venerable Ātreya said to him: "The specific components of the universe are innumerable, and the specific components of man are also innumerable. Intending their similarity, we shall describe some of their states in gross terms. Listen with a focused mind, O Agniveśa, as they are properly described!
