4.8.31

tasya garbhaśalyasya jarāyuprapātanaṃ karma saṃśamanamityāhureke, mantrādikamatharvavedavihitamityeke, paridṛṣṭakarmaṇā śalyahartrā haraṇamityeke/

Some say the measure to expel that foreign body of the embryo is the expulsion of the placenta; some say it is mantras and the like prescribed in the Atharvaveda; some say it is extraction by a surgeon of observed competence.
