apasvaraṃ bhāpamāṇaṃ prāptaṃ maraṇamātmanaḥ/
śrotāraṃ cāpyaśabdasya dūrataḥ parivarjayet//
Speaking in a discordant tone, approaching his own death,
and hearing sounds where there are none: one should avoid him from afar.
