ūṣmā tathā syāddavathuḥ sirāṇāmāyāma ityeva ca pūrvarūpam/
sarvastridoṣo 'adhikadoṣaliṅgaistacchabdamabhyeti bhiṣagjitaṃ ca//
Local heat, likewise burning sensation, and distension of the vessels are the premonitory symptoms; / all [swellings] involve the three doṣas; through the signs of the predominant doṣa it acquires its name and treatment.
