The Compendium of Caraka 8.1.51

8.1.51

virecayettrirdvirathaikaśo vā balaṃ samīkṣya trividhaṃ malānām/
&uraḥśirolāghavamindriyācchyaṃ srotoviśuddhiśca bhavedviśuddhe//

he should purge [it] three times, twice, or once, observing the threefold strength of the wastes.
Lightness of chest and head, clarity of the senses, and purity of the channels occur in one who is cleansed;
