yad prāg dvādaśasāhasram uditaṃ daivikaṃ yugam
tad ekasaptatiguṇaṃ manvantaram ihocyate //

The before-mentioned age of the gods, (or) twelve thousand (of their years), being multiplied by seventy-one, (constitutes what) is here named the period of a Manu (Manvantara).
