prajānāṃ rakṣaṇaṃ dānam ijyādhyayanam eva ca
viṣayeṣv aprasaktiś ca kṣatriyasya //

The Kshatriya he commanded to protect the people, to bestow gifts, to offer sacrifices, to study (the Veda), and to abstain from attaching himself to sensual pleasures;
