kurukṣetraṃ ca matsyāś ca pañcālāḥ śūrasenakāḥ
eṣa brahmarṣideśo vai brahmāvartād anantaraḥ //

The plain of the Kurus, the (country of the) Matsyas, Pankalas, and Surasenakas, these (form), indeed, the country of the Brahmarshis (Brahmanical sages, which ranks) immediately after Brahmavarta.
