yad eva tarpayaty adbhiḥ pitṝn snātvā dvijottamaḥ
tenaiva kṛtsnam āpnoti pitṛyajñakriyāphalam //
Even when a Brahmana, after bathing, satisfies the manes with water, he obtains thereby the whole reward for the performance of the (daily) Sraddha.
