tasmād etāḥ sadā pūjyā bhūṣaṇācchādanāśanaiḥ
bhūtikāmair narair nityaṃ satkareṣūtsaveṣu ca //

Hence men who seek (their own) welfare, should always honour women on holidays and festivals with (gifts of) ornaments, clothes, and (dainty) food.
