yadi hi strī na roceta pumāṃsaṃ na pramodayet
apramodāt punaḥ puṃsaḥ prajanaṃ na pravartate //

For if the wife is not radiant with beauty, she will not attract her husband; but if she has no attractions for him, no children will be born.
