ekaḥ prajāyate jantur eka eva pralīyate
eko 'nubhuṅkte sukṛtam eka eva ca duṣkṛtam //
Single is each being born; single it dies; single it enjoys (the reward of its) virtue; single (it suffers the punishment of its) sin.
