yathoddharati nirdātā kakṣaṃ dhānyaṃ ca rakṣati
tathā rakṣen nṛpo rāṣṭraṃ hanyāc ca paripanthinaḥ //
As the weeder plucks up the weeds and preserves the corn, even so let the king protect his kingdom and destroy his opponents.
