strībālonmattavṛddhānāṃ daridrāṇāṃ ca rogiṇām
śiphāvidalarajjvādyair vidadhyān nṛpatir damam //
On women, infants, men of disordered mind, the poor and the sick, the king shall inflict punishment with a whip, a cane, or a rope and the like.
