śambhorjagatsaṃhārakasyāgrataḥ sāmmukhyāt | pañcavaktrapakṣe
pradhānaṃ vaktraṃ prācāntu sthitam | ekavaktrapakṣe
tadrūpamāhādityapurāṇe-
Because of being directly in front of Śambhu, the destroyer of the universe. In the view of five faces, the principal face faces east. In the view of a single face, its form is stated in the Ādityapurāṇa:
