And it is done thus:
Taking with folded hands a new sacred pot full of water, accompanied by sprouts, joined with dūrvā grass, smeared with white plaster, wrapped with cloth, with a full saucer [on top], and accompanied by fruit, the sacrificer, accompanied by Brahmins and along with his wife and sons, having entered the house to the sound of musical instruments, should set up that sacred pot upon grain in the middle of the main room. Then, for the stability of the house, having had the puṇyāhavācana recited, having fed the Brahmins, having received their blessings, he should eat together with his friends. 20
