dine dine 'ñjalīn pūrṇān pradadyāt pretakāraṇāt | tāvad vṛddhiḥ prakartavyā yāvat piṇḍaḥ samāpyate

Day after day one should offer full handfuls of water for the sake of the departed; / this increase should be made as long as the [offering of the] rice-ball is concluded.

Day by day he should give full handfuls of water for the departed, increasing them until the rice-balls are completed.
