vyatikramādasampūrṇamanahaṅkutirācaret .
paratreha ca tad‌brahma anadhītamapi dvijam .
yastūpanayanādetadā mṛtyorvratamācaret .. 1.39 ..

Free from pride, he should make up for any transgression that is incomplete. / In the next world and in this one, that sacred lore [protects] the twice-born even if unstudied. / But whoever observes this vow from initiation until death, // 1.39
