brahmodvāhavidhānena tadabhāve paro vidhiḥ .
dātavyaiṣā saṭṭakṣāya vayovidyānvayādibhiḥ .. 2.5 ..

According to the rule of the Brāhma marriage; in its absence, [by] another rule. / She should be given to one endowed with [qualities] such as age, learning, and lineage.
