yāvad uṣṇaṃ bhavaty annaṃ yāvad bhuñjanti vāgyatāḥ /
aśnanti pitaras tāvad yāvan noktā havirguṇāḥ //
As long as the food is warm, as long as they eat with restrained speech, / so long do the ancestors eat, provided the virtues of the oblation are not spoken of.
