devatve yātanāsthāne tiryagyonau tathaiva ca
mānuṣye ca tathāpnoti śrāddhaṃ dattaṃ svabāndhavaiḥ //

Whether he has become a god, or stays in hell, or has entered the body of an animal, or of a human being, he will receive the Srâddha offered to him by his relatives.
