imaṃ lokaṃ mātṛbhaktyā pitṛbhaktyā tu madhyamam
guruśuśrūṣayā tv eva brahmalokaṃ samāśnute //
By honouring his mother, he gains the present world; by honouring his father, the world of gods; and by paying strict obedience to his spiritual teacher, the world of Brahman.
