kṣudhayā vyathamānāś ca ghorair vyāghragaṇais tathā
pūyaśoṇitagandhena mūrchamānāḥ pade pade //
They are agitated by hunger and by fearful troops of tigers, and faint away. at every step on account of the foul stenches proceeding from pus and from blood.
