caturṣv ādyeṣu sāgnīnāṃ vahnau homo vidhīyate |
pitryabrāhmaṇahaste syād uttareṣu caturṣv api ||
In the first four, the oblation is prescribed in the fire for those who maintain fires;
in the latter four, it should be in the hand of the Brahmin invited for the ancestral rite.'
