1.3.57

āsuraḥ punar draviṇādānāt | gāndharavas tu parasparānurāgeṇa bhavati | rākṣaso yuddhenāpaharaṇāt | paiśācas tu kanyakāchalāt chalena chadmanā svāpādyavasthāsv apaharaṇāt || 1.61 ||

The Āsura is through the taking of wealth. The Gāndharva occurs through mutual affection. The Rākṣasa is through abduction by fighting. The Paiśāca is through deceit toward the maiden—that is, through abduction by fraud or trickery in states such as sleep. || 1.61
