tathā viṣṇupade śrāddhapiṇḍado hyṛṇamuktikṛt
pitrādīnāṃ śatakulaṃ svātmānaṃ tārayennaraḥ
Likewise, offering an ancestral rite and funeral cakes at the footstep of Viṣṇu, he is freed from debts; / a man rescues a hundred families of ancestors and others, and himself.
