kālāgnirūpiṇam viṣṇuṃ jyotirbrahma parātparam /
munibhiḥ pṛṣṭavān devaṃ pūjitaṃ jñānakarmabhiḥ //
Together with the sages, [Vasiṣṭha] questioned the god, Viṣṇu in the form of the fire of destruction,
the radiant brahman, higher than the highest, worshipped through knowledge and ritual works.
