daśāhopari pitroś ca duhiturmaraṇe tryahaṃ /
sadyaḥ śaucaṃ sapiṇḍānāṃ pūrvaṃ cūḍākṛterdvija //
Upon the death of a daughter after ten days [of life], it is three days for the parents.
Prior to the tonsure rite, O twice-born, there is immediate purity for sapindas.
