śṛṅgabhaṅge 'sthibhaṅge ca lāṅgūlacchedane tathā /
yāvakantu pivettāvadyāvat susthā tu gaurbhavet //
If a horn is broken, or a bone is broken, or likewise if the tail is severed, / he should drink barley gruel until the cow becomes healthy again.
