ekaikaṃ grāsamaśnīyāt tryahāṇi trīṇi pūrvavat /
tryahañcopavasedantyamatikṛcchraṃ caran dvijaḥ //
He should eat a single mouthful [each day] for three periods of three days as before, / and should fast for the final three days: [thus] a twice-born performs the atikṛcchra.
