daṃṣṭriṇaḥ krodhavaśajā dharotthāḥ(1) pakṣiṇo jale /
surabhyāṃ gomahiṣyādi irotpannāstṛṇādayaḥ //
Fanged beasts were born of Krodhavaśā; from Dharā arose the birds upon the water; / from Surabhi arose cows, buffaloes, and the like; and from Irā were born grasses and other plants.
