svasāyāṃ yakṣarakṣāṃsi muneraśvarasobhavan /
ariṣṭāyāntu gandharvāḥ kaśyapāddhi sthirañcaraṃ(2) //
From Svasā were born the Yakṣas and Rākṣasas; from the sage [Kaśyapa] arose the horses and Apsarases; / from Ariṣṭā the Gandharvas; thus from Kaśyapa came the stationary and the moving [creation].
