kṛte tu dīyate gatvā tretāsvānīya dīyate /
dvāpāre yācamānāya kalau tvanugamānvite //
In the Kṛta [age] a gift is given having gone [to the recipient]; in the Tretā [age] it is given having summoned [him]; / in the Dvāpara to one who asks; but in the Kali [age] to one who follows after.
